Tell au pairs about your children, your job, values, hobbies and fun things that make you a nice family!

We have a daughter of 1 and we expect a boy in June. We like to be active and spend time in the nature and we like to go out for cultural activities. We also like to cook and spend time at home with our family. We find it important that we make fun with our kids and are open for each others ideas. For our kids, we are clear about boundaries, especially when things are dangerous, but where possible we would like to say "yes" and be open for their ideas. We involve them in our worlds and what matters to us

What are you looking for and expecting from an au pair? What will you expect from the au pair?

We would like an au pair that shares our values and is openminded. Clear on boundaries for things that are dangerous but in general not too strict and creative. Preferably someone who is active and like to go out and meet new people. If possible someone who comes from a big family and took care of baby/small siblings. Someone who is positive and curious. No use of TV or screens with our kids. Someone who is direct and clearly expresses his/her whishes and expectations towards us, open to give and receive feedback. Someone who likes to read.

What fun things can the au pair do around town, and what can your family offer to the au pairs during the au pair experience?

Amsterdam is a great city and we live close to Central Station so its easy to visit other places in the Netherlands. We definitely support someone who likes to get to know the country and can help you plan for this. We have travelled a lot and share the curiosity of travelling so we might join or take you to places. We also expect you will go out yourself and meet new people, we support entrepreneurship and will help you getting around.
